Day 19 & 20 – Hasta Luego Peru, my love!

We ended our last day in Ayacucho last Sunday in style, namely with lovely company, Karin & Roeland, a good glass of white whine and a 3-star Michelin vegetarian dinner. What a great evening that was! Thanks again for the hospitality amigo’s!

After packing for a few hours (quite a puzzle!), we were ready to catch our flight back to humid Lima. 3 weeks of traveling and working late hours, we started to feel pretty ‘groggy’. I decided to reschedule my meeting with the yarn manufacturer Mitchel to this morning in order to take it easy for once.

Seems like it becomes a tradition to create our own little ‘Spa’ every time we get to Lima. And it was more than needed! Natural beauty Griet didn’t participate, since she’s doesn’t seem to need it! But me, however, … no such luck!

A manicure, pedicure and full body scrub later we headed towards Miraflores again for one of our final lovely Peruvian lunches. Was it the fatigue or was it just the food, we don’t know, but we both had two bites and that was it. Modern Lima food does in no way compare to the local food. So we had to shop our sorrows away… Ready to burn the clothes we have been wearing for the past 3 weeks, we were desperate for something new, something fresh, something, no not blue, but new yes ;-)!

Perhaps you noticed, perhaps you didn’t, but Griet is like the brunette version of me, and I’m the blonde version of her. We always more of less look or react a like. On top of that we also have the same taste in clothes, it’s always a struggle to shop together since we always want the same stuff! Hihi. So we do just buy the same things, or just in other colours. 2 beautiful travel-proof 100% Alpaca (‘evidemment!’) light sweaters and 2 warm bordeaux bed blankets later we headed back towards the hotel, ready for our ‘movie night’. Well, maybe a bit more night than movie… Let’s just say we saw the intro! Knackered we were!

After a good midnight rest I headed off to Mitchel this morning, my last important stop of my 3-weeks Peruvian adventure. Ready to order my beautiful LN|Beanies yarn! Yesterday I made a final selection of the 12 colours that I am going to use for my LN|Beanies Winter 2012-2013 collection. It will consist of 7 basic colours and 5 fashionable, trendy, colours.  Curious? Well, here they are!

Thank you my lovely Griet and my more than amazing friends for the advice! It has not been easy. But I am more than satisfied with the final selection! Do you already have a favourite colour? I’d love to know!

So, at this moment I’m writing my final blog post here in Peru… What an amazing 3 weeks this has been. Everything went so fluently, as if everything was meant to be and I’m just following the path that is there for me to be followed. Besides hiking shoes that is, I seem to have lost them AGAIN. Maybe God is trying to say me something… Skip exercising? Work more? Haha…

Of course the story doesn’t end here! I will still update you with my LN|Beanies and LN|Andes improvements and adventures, documented with some lowers quality pictures since I don’t have Griet by my side permanently (that would have been nice, however!).

Off for a 24h trip back to Belgium!
