Hi folks,
You, the clients, are staying mostly incognito, but we can’t forget that you are also a big part of what makes this brand so special. It’s thanks to your endless support and nice comments that we have the drive to keep on doing what we do. So, this is our chance to say that we love you as much as you love LN.
For this blogpost we won’t introduce you to a face behind LN Knits, but rather to one of our biggest fans: Marta Pisini.
Marta originates from Tuscany in Italy and moved to Antwerp together with her boyfriend and two dogs, Paco and Pedro, because of her job. “My biggest struggle with moving to Belgium was dealing with the cold.”
I hear you thinking already: then alpaca knitwear is perfect! I agree. But how did Marta get in contact with the brand in the first place? Because getting to know a Belgian brand as a foreigner can’t be that easy. Or can it?
“I used to live in the Volkstraat and used to pass one of the first pop-up stores quite often. Then one time I just went inside and that was the start of it. Since I started wearing LN Knits, I’m not cold anymore (laughs).”
Okay, so that’s how easy it is! And ever since then, she also gradually got to know Ellen better. “I really love the concept of the brand and the fact that I know Ellen. It’s nice to put a face to a product. Also, the fair-trade concept is amazing and it’s all very transparent. I actually know what I’m wearing.”
While I was e-mailing with Marta to arrange this nice chat, I asked her to bring her favourite LN pieces: one general favourite and one favourite from this collection. I couldn’t help but be curious about what she brought. There was some vibrant blue poking out from the white tote bag she brought.
“The Big Bertha is my favourite piece of all the collections. It’s just really multifunctional. For example, when I travel I’m always cold and then I just put the Big Bertha on my shoulders. I can wear it every season and it can also replace a coat sometimes.”
And the same as Charlotte Kegels, who we introduced to you in our last blogpost, Marta fell in love with the Billy Bomber of the FW17/18 collection. But for Marta it was the colour Black that convinced her. “I love this piece, again because it’s multifunctional. You can wear it in different styles and match it with different outfits. You can wear it more formal or sportier.”
“What I admire a lot is the approach. Ellen really is the first ambassador of the brand. It’s very nice and inspiring to see how she succeeded. That’s also what makes the brand attractive to people.”
Thanks again Marta, for taking the time to meet with me and for this nice conversation! I must admit, that Billy Bomber looks like it’s made for you.
