One of the best feelings about having a fair fashion brand is seeing our customers shine in beautiful knits. Keeping you warm and cosy while providing our women in Peru with a fair income is what we work for.
And sometimes a customer becomes a true LN Knits ambassador. These are the people who love your brand to the core and won’t hesitate to tell others why. One of those people is Liene, a visual artist from Leuven. She’s a make-up artist and hairstylist, as well as illustrator and painter. She loves to give people more confidence and “me time” through her make-overs, but enjoys getting creative with colours and fonts just as much.
And let’s not forget about her other full-time job: being a mother of two adorable kiddos, Sézane and Loewè. “Especially during lockdown times, this has definitely been my main job. And as Ellen would confirm, it’s not always easy to get everything scheduled efficiently when you have two rascals running around!”, Liene explains.
As we can see on her Instagram, Liene takes care of her children in style. Fun and candid shots with her kids, some detail shots of her artwork and the prettiest outfits turn her feed into an inspiration for fashionistas and artists alike. And it was while scouting for the perfect outfit at Thelma Coffee and Design in Leuven that she first got to know LN Knits. “But my first LN Knits piece was actually the Cotton Sunhat I bought for my daughter. Super cute! So consequently, I was really happy when I saw the teaser for the adult sunhats. I wanted one immediately!”
For Liene, LN’s strongest features are the timelessness and quality of the knits. “I try to invest in timeless and sustainable pieces that last for years and keep bringing me joy when I take them out of my closet. Pieces that you want to keep on wearing.”
Liene’s wardrobe is a mix of vintage, small brands and yes, admittedly, also some bigger chains. But when she turned 30, she made a deal with herself: there are brands and chains where she will never shop again. “I try to be more conscious about fashion. If everyone buys a little more sustainably, without shopping impulsively, we can make an important leap forward. For some people that’s achievable, but not for everyone, so every little adjustment counts. I personally would rather invest more money in a quality basic such as an LN Knit, because it’s a lasting and beautiful essential.”
When asked what her all-time favourite LN Knits piece is, she doesn’t have to think long. “Since I became the proud owner of the Smiley Sabine Cardigan, I’ve barely worn anything else. You can wear it with the V in front, but also in the back for a more “sweaterlike” feel. I usually don’t wear a lot of V-necks, but I love myself an open back, so I’m known for wearing my jumpers and cardigans two different ways.”

She has worn it for a really long time and it was really difficult to say goodbye to that first sunhat, because of the emotional value. But now her brother also has his own little hat and we’re a little club of LN sunhat lovers.”
