As Lucy is the big girl of the Poels family now, last year we decided it was time for her to have her very own ‘big girl’ room. A new bed, closet, shelves, … you name it!
Together with Timmer Ateljé, we designed a custom room exactly to our own taste. The end result is a timeless kids room, made from durable materials.
And because we’re so happy with the result, we decided to give Timmer Ateljé some extra love and attention with this blogpost.
When Sandy and Sylke’s twins were born, they were having difficulties finding beautiful and lasting kids furniture. They were looking for something kids friendly, but at the same time something that wouldn’t clash with their interior too much. In the end they decided: why not make it ourselves?
Sandy’s love for woodworking started in his father’s business, where he worked as a fourth generation woodworker. But starting for himself was a dream that came true with Timmer Ateljé. He joined forces with his wife Sylke and designed a line of timeless kids items in soft pastel colors.
But Timmer Ateljé nowadays isn’t only known for their kids interior. Today their biggest feature is customization. Everything can be made according to your own wishes: your bedroom, office, shop and even your kitchen. They will guide you through the process in every aspect: choice of materials, colors, placing and so on.
Their view on sustainability encompasses more than only the ecological aspect, also the durability of the materials is taken into account. It has to retain its quality for the years to come and has to be easy to maintain. They find it important that every Timmer Ateljé design is worth its investment.
In a time where big interior businesses play a leading role, Timmer Ateljé’s strength is their small scale. They follow up on everything, from beginning to end. They attach a lot of importance to maintaining the contact with their clients themselves. Consequently, they know perfectly what their customer wants and they will do everything possible to see those wishes fulfilled.
