Have you always wanted to know how to care for your LN Knit? In this blogpost we will give you some tips and tricks that can come in handy on multiple occasions. When you take good care of your precious knit, you will be able to enjoy it for a very long time!
Because alpaca fiber is a natural material, it might behave a little bit differently from the other materials that you’re used to. You might have noticed that after a while your knit starts showing some little fluffy balls and threads, which is called pilling. But don’t worry, the pilling is really easy to remove!
Alpacas are fluffy animals, so it’s no surprise that your knits also can start to fluff a little bit. But after giving your precious garment a little bit of love and attention it will look as good as new!
You can remove the little fluffy balls, one pill at a time, using a small pair of scissors. But be careful not to damage the fabric by cutting too close to the surface.
Okay, so you have removed all the pilling and your knit looks good again. But you have worn it often and you think it could use some freshening up.
You can literally give your knit a little bit of fresh air by hanging or laying it outside for a couple of hours. Or just drop by the LN Knits Flagshipstore in Antwerp and we will freshen it up for you in our LG Styler! This machine doesn’t remove stains, but it steams your knit and removes unwanted scents and bacteria. This process takes about 30 minutes which gives you the perfect opportunity to discover our collection or head into town for a cup of coffee. Sounds good, right?
And to refresh your knit even more, you can use the LN Fresh spray which adds a nice scent to your garment. Find it in the LN Knits Flagshipstore and online (click here!)
After after all this: ta-daaaa! Good as new!
But what if your knit needs a bit more than just a freshening up and you want to remove some stains? Time for some cleaning! To clean your precious knit, we highly recommend dry-cleaning. If needed, you can iron your knit using a damp cloth.
An LN Knits piece is made with lots of love, but it’s still a delicate item. Combining it often with handbags, cuddly pets or happy little babies (like Lucy) can cause extra friction, which results in more pilling.
How about storing your knit? Well, the best way to put it in your closet is by folding it. This way it doesn’t stretch and the knit will keep its original shape the longest. Have you been walking around a lot in the rain? Then first let your knit dry flat before putting it away.

Groetjes,
Sacha
