Sometimes there are certain customers that come by the LN Knits Flagshipstore that often that you start to recognise their faces. And because I haven’t been working for LN for a very long time (however, more than 4 months already! Time flies!), getting to know the customers is one of my favourite parts of the job.
I reached out to a lovely young woman that I suspect is a bit of a DIY addict. Tineke was more than happy to meet with me for this very last blogpost in the series “LN Fans in the spotlight” of FW17/18.
Let me introduce you to this 26-year old woman from Antwerp, who is also the mother of a cute little guy called Cédric, who just turned one. Tineke’s story starts with a friend of a friend, who owned a beautiful scarf that she absolutely fell in love with. Guess which brand it was? Exactly.
“Not long after that I got a Long Lucy as a gift from my boyfriend and I was sold. It didn’t stop there and I just kept on buying more knits.” But Tineke doesn’t only buy the finished products, she also makes them herself! It all started with the first book “Goed Gemutst”, that she used to make a beanie for her boyfriend. “You know how it goes: a scarf for my mom, for a friend, another one for myself, … Even one for Cédric before he was born!” And then came the book ‘In de Wolken’.. “I think I made something different every week after the this book was released…”
What makes our wool and knits so precious to Tineke? “The softness, the quality and the fact that the brand supports the knitting ladies in Peru.” Of course we all love soft knits, but Tineke really underlines that she loves the softness of our baby alpaca wool for a specific reason. “Wool just itches really fast and I’m really sensitive to itching garments. I just don’t tolerate them. LN Knits is a perfect fit in that aspect.”
Tineke also tells me that her favourite colours are the pink tones. I couldn’t help but admit that if that was the case, she would absolutely adore the next SS18 collection. It’s full of beautiful pinks! “The colours just fit with everything. I have very neutral colours hanging in my wardrobe, and to wear a Big Bertha on top of that just always works.”
But Tineke also brought another fan for me to meet: her son Cédric. Young and small as he is, he already is a big fan of our knits! “My mom bought him a Kids Hoodie even before he was born. From the moment we left the hospital, he has worn his Hoodie every time we went outside.” So both Tineke and her kiddo wrap themselves up in LN Knits when they go outside. Even her boyfriend has swayed and likes to wear his (homemade) beanies and scarves when venturing outside.
Thank you, Tineke, for meeting me!
