Going to bed at 8.30 PM, it doesn’t happen quite often, but after being awake for more or less 48 hours, you do feel reborn after a good mid night rest! Fresh as birds me and Griet enjoyed breakfast & whilst snacking on fruit and yoghurt we met a very interesting family from Quebec who gave us a few insight tips on where we should head to on our last day in sunny, warm & humid Lima. And that is… Barranco. Barranco is a district quite close to ‘posh’ Miraflores, that overlooks the ocean and that is scattered with old mansions, giving it colonial and republican vibe. If we are keen on ceviche (and yes I am), we should definitely go there for a local lunch in Kanta Rana. Famous for its typical Peruvian fish dishes.

LNAndes conesBefore I make your mouth water, first a bit more information on my short, yet productive meeting at Michell. About 8 weeks ago I’ve chosen (with the help of itRox, ‘interior design & styling by Roxanne Stevens) the new LN|Beanies & LN|Andes collection colours. The LN|Andes collection will consist of 11 colours, 5 basic colours, namely off white, beige, light grey, dark grey and black, and 6 trend colours… Soft salmon pink, old rose, blush orange, funky 80’s blue, eggplant purple and a blue-ish green where I haven’t found a name for yet. Suggestion?

I’m very happy with the current colour pallet of the LN|Andes collection. It’s a nice match! What would be your favourite item/colour? I’ll be going for a old rose Big Bertha, a funky 80’s blue Long Lucy, an eggplant purple Mini Maria & a dark grey Cosy Charlene! Can’t wait! More info about the LN|Beanies colours next week!

So, after having fun at the Michell showroom & stock, LN| in a yarn shop is like a kiddo in a candy store (even though I am a big fan of candy too, the combination would be paradise), we headed towards Barranco for a stroll and a good hearty lunch. It was definitely worth the visit! Me and Griet were nicely surprised by the beauty and authenticity of this district. In Kanta Rana, one of the cosiest local Peruvian restaurant we’ve been too, I had a mixed seafood ceviche and Griet (our ‘real’ vegetarian, I’m just a wanna be pescetarian), a home made pesto ravioli. Hmmm! Finger-licking good!

BarrankoCanta RanaSeafod cevicheWith a good filled stomach we’re off to bed early again since we have our plane to Ayacutcho to catch at 5A M. Bye bye warm Lima & touristic activities, hello Ayacucho, rain, mist & trabacho trabacho!

Looking forward seeing you again Ayacucho, you have been missed!

Love,

LN

    Hi Ellen,

I’m following your trip to Peru! As a designer myself, I’m very excited for you! All those beautiful colors and textures, I totally understand you feel like a child in a candy store!
For your ”blue-sh green” designs what about: ”Vivid Vivianne” (the meaning of Vivianne is “lively”) or ”Witty Wilma”?

    Have a blast!

ooooooh een magazijn vol wolletjes in zo veel kleurtjes ! Daar kregen ze mij met geen stokken meer buiten. Nu ja, misschien wel met een paar priemen, een haakpen en een kruiwagen vol van die heerlijk zachte wol.
